§ 01

A workshop, not a factory.

Waycross Labs is where I build things. Small, useful software — one product at a time, the kind that holds up under real use rather than the kind that demos well and crumbles. It stays small on purpose. Everything here exists because a question was worth answering, and sticks around as long as it stays useful.

  • Build to learn
  • Ship when it’s honest
  • Keep what stays useful

John "JT" Earl Engineer

I spent ten years writing software inside regulated finance, where being wrong was expensive. That habit of building things to last stuck with me. Waycross Labs is where I keep practicing — picking the right tool for the problem instead of the loudest one, and trying things just to see how they hold up. The work itself is the point: build, create, never stop asking why, never finish learning.

FrameFocal

Photo galleries built for photographers and clients.

I wanted to see how cheaply a real photo gallery platform could run on AWS without looking cheap. FrameFocal is what came out of that — password-protected galleries for photographers to share work with clients, with optional watermarking, client favorites, and download analytics. Engineered to keep storage and CDN costs honest, without sacrificing how photography is supposed to look.

  • Password-protected client galleries
  • Optional watermarking & download analytics
  • EXIF metadata, favorites, expirations
  • Built on AWS · S3 · CloudFront · Lambda
